SPIDERMAN 3 REVIEW

Spiderman 3 is an enigma; I don’t understand how this happened. Spiderman 1 was a great film; Spiderman 2 was one of Marvel’s greatest adaptations and an all time classic comic book movie.

Then came Spiderman 3….

I don’t know what everyone was thinking involved with this project but I imagine it involved the use of some psychotropic drugs and rubber wallpaper.

The story is filled with plot holes. Not only gapping chasms of plot holes but also very, very cheesy with it.

Sandman stumbles into a dangerous experiment in the middle of nowhere. The technicians don’t stop the experiment because they think he’s a bird.

Peter Parker when he goes evil has an emo hairstyle to signify he’s evil. Then when he goes back to normal so does his hair?

For years the New Goblin has been stewing with anger and hatred and finally the butler tells him the truth.

The homo erotic ending with the New Goblin in Spiderman’s arms as Sandman disappears into the sunset.

Venom the coolest character ever is introduced and then killed 20 minutes later!

These are a few examples of the silly narrative structure of Spiderman 3. Spiderman 2 proved with perfection you only need one super villain. But some moron put three in this one! Three! Why?

The real ending should have been Eddie Brock consumed by the venom then 4 could have been a great Spiderman V Venom movie. But no.

This Spiderman series has now been cancelled so Dr Connors small part gradually growing in each movie to eventually become Lizard has also been cancelled.

With the titanic success of The Dark Knight it will be interesting to see which direction the new Spiderman franchise will be taken in. However I more concerned that the series will follow the wimpy, stupid, designed for 13-year-old girls Twilight route than any other.

Till next time Spider fans!

Your friendly neighbourhood reviewer.
